The Doomsday Clock is the metaphorical clock maintained by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists to warn us of existential risks from nuclear threats, climate change, and disruptive technologies such as AI. The Doomsday Clock is now set at 85 seconds to midnight, the closest it has ever been to symbolizing global catastrophe. Click the image on the left for more information.

About
Scott has enjoyed writing, or scribbling, since growing up in a small town in Western Michigan. He attended Michigan State University from 1975-1981 before working for Abacus Software in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in March 1985.
After a stint in sales and customer service, Scott joined the editorial department editing and writing books, software manuals, newsletters, blogs, magazine articles, and brochures. In addition to editing/writing books, he also wrote articles and reviews for Flight Simulator World magazine.
He remained at Abacus until the evolving home computer market disappeared and the business closed on December 31, 2012. It, however, providedhim with the opportunity to begin his own “publishing empire.” His first book was The Vodka Story, which is still available, and his writing path has continued through books on railroad history, aviation history, and more.
When he's not writing or in front of his computer, he enjoys photography and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers. (He's also a part-owner, though small minority owner of the Packers.)
